$24 Trillion!

WASHINGTON – The federal government has devoted $4.7 trillion to help the financial sector through its crisis, a watchdog report said Monday.

Under the worst of circumstances, the report said, the government’s maximum exposure could total nearly $24 trillion, or $80,000 for every American.

So…. Yeah…. Um….

Bailouts = bad and whatnot.

Sorry for my lack of intelligent speech.  My jaw is still on the ground.

  • But surely the illegal aliens will be chipping in too, right?

  • Looks like I’ll wait until I’m 78 to retire.  It all for a good cause after all.

    A little perspective though…the 24T represents worst case scenario….as in everyone who the gov’t loaned money to defaults.  Not likely, but the numbers are staggering none the less.  Then again when you own the keys to the printing press the concept of “making money” is entirely different.

    Only serves the cause in 2010 midterms….need at least one house of congress back in a big way.
