Sen. Michael Knapik Blasts Gov. Patrick for Closed Door Ethics Reform Meeting

Lawmakers blasted a closed-door ethics reform powwow held yesterday by Gov. Deval Patrick only days after he chastised legislators for shaping such reforms out of the public eye.

“You can’t have it both ways. You can’t demand transparency and shutter the doors,” said Sen. Michael Knapik (R-Westfield) , who served on Patrick’s task force but wasn’t invited to yesterday’s sitdown. “It’s unfortunate that we weren’t involved.”

Patrick’s ethics task force never opened their doors, however, something Knapik and task force member Pam Wilmot opposed.
