Below is a link to an article in today’s Boston Herald about cuts facing the Boston School Dept. When asked about the cuts the head of the Teacher’s Union indicated that the union was not ready to concede to a wage freeze, and he wanted the legislature to approve a hotel/meals tax increase for Boston
“This is a revenue problem,” said Robert Stutman. “It’s not a spending problem.”
Never mind all the business that hotels and restaurants might lose because of the tax. The union doesn’t even hide the fact that it doesn’t want any cuts, but rather increased taxes.
