Gov. Deval Patrick, who blasted Massport for hiring a controversial Big Dig management firm, is employing the same company and another discredited Dig contractor for work on Bay State highway projects, the Herald has learned.
MassHighway paid Parsons Brinckerhoff – which helped oversee the $22 billion Big Dig boondoggle – more than $300,000 for engineering work in 2007 and 2008. The department also paid $358,000 in 2008 to Gannett Fleming Inc., which designed the tunnel in which the ceiling collapsed, killing a Jamaica Plain mother.
Why on Earth is the state still hiring consultants?
Why on Earth is the state hiring consultants from these firms?
Why on Earth does no one care that during the campaign Deval said that he would ‘never hire’ and ‘never pay them a dime’ that he would ‘stop paying’ big dig contractors, and now he’s REHIRING THEM?
It’s so outrageous that no one is outraged.
