MassGOP to Gov. Patrick: Cuts Aren’t Enough!

(This is a good article.  Now that leadership has started the dialogue in the press, tell us what can be cut.  What are the top ten wastes of money right now that can and should be cut.  We as a party need to stop taking only potshots but also offer solutions.

Republican lawmakers said Gov. Deval Patrick must continue to cut take-home vehicle perks if the state hopes to successfully navigate the rough road ahead in the fiscal crisis.

Rep. Robert S. Hargraves (R-Groton) said the state cars were ripe for abuse, and chided Patrick for cutting only 107 out of 500 vehicles.

“That’s 393 too little,” Hargraves said. “To keep a fleet of cars is very, very expensive, and they are abused, because I see them out there.”

State Senate Minority Leader Robert R. Tisei (R-Wakefield) applauded Patrick for the cuts but said there is more work to do.

“I think this is probably the tip of the iceberg,” Tisei said. “There are a lot more things he could be getting rid of.”…
