Obama Win = Financial Gain for Debate Moderator

Photobucket

I admit, I was a bit concerned, upon learning that Gwen Ifill, of PBS’s Washington Week and frequent panelist on the Sunday talk show circuit, would be moderating the Vice Presidential Debate between Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Senator Joe Biden.

“Take it easy”, I told myself, “I mean, other than being liberal, how bad could it be?”

Then I learned the rest of the story…

Gwen Ifill, it seems, has authored a new book

The title?

The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama

Did anyone else notice the absence of names such as Condeleeza Rice, Colin Powell, Michael Steele?

I honestly don’t know if any of these notable, and highly successful public servants are mentioned in the book.  But I’m not holding my breath.

The important question, of course, is;

Can Ifill be expected to be a 100% objective moderator?

When it is clear that she stands to gain financially, perhaps substantially, from an Obama win.

Oh, and the the release date for Ms. Ifill’s book?

January 20, 2009.

  • If I were Palin, at some point in the “interrogation” I would confront and ask Ifill why she did not excuse herself as moderator in light of a blatant conflict of interest? and that could I be assured of equitable time and opportunity in this debate?

    I’d love to see Ifill’s face. I think those watching would cheer.

  •  gonna do with all those books if the Obamessiah loses?
