Ron Paul Endorses Chuck Baldwin

It official. Bob Barr must have done something to piss Ron off because he has officialy endorsed Chuck Baldwin. Thats good enough for me.

Good on immigration and supports trade tarrifs with our aggresive “partners”.

Know anyone that needs to raise some money in a hurry, say 700 billion or so?

TARRIFS! Havent we had enough of playing stupid already?

“I’ve thought about the unsolicited advice from the Libertarian Party candidate, and he has convinced me to reject my neutral stance in the November election. I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate.”

Chuck Baldwin is everything I like about Sarah Palin in a Presidential choice.  I am going to struggle with a vote for McCain because Palin is at the bottom of the ticket.  Baldwin is at the top and I think he is a strong choice.

Now had Baldwin chosen Palin as a running mate the race would be over for me.

  • Is the only reason I’m voting for McCain this year. I believe both he and Osa err… Obama are the two main threats to free speech in this country. I’m voting for McCain in the hopes that he cannot fufill his 4 yrs of office and sarah becomes our President. Sad but 100% true.

I voted for him in the primary, but it is clear that he is a paleoconservative.  Obviously, there are a number of similarities, but i would hope that this endorsement, his opposition to abortion (when a libertarian should not give a creature’s behind about it), and his strong desire for an increased presence for religion in public life will allow people to see that he is a defender of liberty in most cases, but he is not a libertarian.

Let’s compare the Libertarian Party and Constitution Party platforms for a moment, shall we?

    Constitution Party Preamble:

The Constitution Party gratefully acknowledges the blessing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States. We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States.

This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.

The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries.

    Libertarian Party Preamble:

As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty; a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.

We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized.

Consequently, we defend each person’s right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or any authoritarian power.

Which one sounds better?  I would say the latter.  I know, Vote3rdpartynow would say the former, but hey, you can’t win ’em all.
