Young Republicans Roll out Sneak Preview of thisismyparty.org Washington, D.C. (July 25, 2008) —

The Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) is rolling out a major initiative targeting young voters beginning with a sneak preview of their new website, thisismyparty.org, on July 25, 2008. Created by Young Republican leaders Wil Westholm (AZ) and Karen Sautter (MA), This is My Party is a homegrown campaign to increase awareness among young Americans about Republican solutions to the problems that confront them.

Karen Sautter, YRNF Northeastern Regional Director, believes that the principles and values held by young Republicans are universal. “As young Republicans, we know that the Republican Party provides, not just innovative ideas, but the means for young Americans to achieve their goals today and tomorrow,” Ms. Sautter said. “We developed This is My Party because we wanted to tell young Americans our story – the unfiltered, unvarnished Young Republican story. We believe those stories will resonate with young Americans who will begin to see for the first time that the Republican Party offers real hope and meaningful change that will help them achieve the American dream.”

This is My Party’s web-based home, thisismyparty.org, will launch on August 1. It will feature profiles contributed by young Republicans from all across the country, revealing the values and issues that make the Republican Party the Party of choice for young Americans. The website will also feature a blog updated daily by young Republicans, including interviews with young conservatives about how they apply the principles of the Republican Party in their everyday lives—from starting a business to serving their communities as elected leaders.

Wil Westholm (AZ), YRNF Western Regional Director, believes This is My Party fills an important gap in the national conversation about what young Americans want in their next President. “The Republican perspective is rarely, if ever, heard in discussions about the youth vote.” Mr. Westholm said. “We are providing a place where members of our generation can hear that perspective- not from the media, but directly from other members of our generation.”

The Young Republicans (YRs) are the oldest political youth organization in the United States. Since its inception, the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) has established itself as the premier Republican grassroots organization in the nation, providing essential grassroots support for Republican candidates and conservative issues on the local, state and national levels.

The YRNF has a solid record of producing future Republican Party leaders -including Governors, Senators, Congressmen, nationally recognized campaign consultants, and community leaders. Through recruiting, training and mobilizing people, the YRNF presents an opportunity for ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Through community involvement in political issues, charitable projects and participation in political campaigns, YRs work to improve the world in which we live.
