Kerry generates $112,000 in Interest & Dividends in 2nd Quarter. Has $8.8 Million Cash-on-hand reports that our not so illustrious Junior Senator raised $442,000 in the second quarter of 2008.

U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-Boston) increased his fundraising to $442,000 in the second financial quarter of 2008, but his expenditures neared $988,000, reducing his cash on hand to $8.8 million — down over a million dollars from the start of the year.

Scary statistic of the day.  Kerry brought in an additional $112,000 in interest and dividends in three months.

Overall, Kerry took in $564,000 from April 1 to June 30, with $232,000 in individual contributions, $212,000 from political action committees and $112,000 from interest and dividends. His committee refunded $2,300 contributions.

The interest alone amounts to 54% of the total amount raised by Jeff Beatty in the same quarter.
