New York Times Headline Riddle

Consider this your Friday afternoon frivolity.

Read the short story below and guess the New York Times headline.

A motorcycle rider is passing by the zoo when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage.

Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside, to devour her before the eyes of her horrified parents and bystanders.

The biker jumps off his motor cycle, runs to the cage and punches the lion square on the nose. The lion staggers, and in doing so, lets go of the girl, whereupon the biker returns her to her parents.

A NY Times reporter has witnessed the entire scene, and addressing the biker, says, “Sir, that was quite an act of bravery!”

“Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars.   I just saw this little kid in danger, and did what I had to do to save her.”

‘Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed.   I’m a journalist from the New York Times, you know, and tomorrow’s  paper will have this on the first page.  By the way, what political affiliation do you have?’

“Wll I don’t know what that has to do with anything, but if tyou must know, I am Republican.”

The journalist leaves.

WHAT IS THE HEADLINE IN THE FOLLOWING DAY’S NYT?
