An April 11th through 14th Survey USA poll places John McCain 18% above Barak Obama in Western & Central Massachusetts. McCain’s coattails will likely have the biggest impact on Nathan Bech who is running for Congress in the Massachusetts 1st Congressional District which includes all of Berkshire & Franklin County along with large portions of Hampshire, Hampden, Worchester and some of Middlesex Counties.
Bech is an Iraq and Afghanistan War Veteran, a West Springfield native who speaks fluent Russian and has studied in India, Egypt and Israel.
Nathan Bech is currently collecting signatures to get on the ballot. 2,000 certified signatures are required to get on the ballot and there are just over two weeks left to collect. Volunteers are encouraged to stop by the campaign HQ at 86 Elm St. in West Springfield or call at 413-788-0669.
Jane Swift came within 4% of winning this district in a year when Bill Clinton swept Bob Dole. With McCain’s coattails we have a great opportunity to put this seat back in Republican hands. Incumbent John Olver (D) Amherst is the only Democrat to ever hold the seat.
