Closer Look at the Senate Numbers

(Beatty’s numbers are up. – promoted by EaBo Clipper)

Update: Beattys report is now online here.  I was wrong in using a 12 month basis.  The report covers 13 months from 03/01/2007 to 03/31/2008.  So the monthly totals for Beatty will be a little less.  More analysis to come later.  Brock, the FEC was wrong last night the numbers were double.

Hotline is reporting the real numbers in Q1 for the US Senate race.

I crunched some numbers quickly regarding Beatty and Ogonowski.

Monthly fundraising rate:

Ogonowski $290,778/2 months (Ogo got in the last week of January) = $145,389/month

Beatty $976,220/12 months = $81,351

Ogo is almost double the Beatty per month rate.

Monthly Spend rate:

Ogonowski 147,373/2 = $73,768

Beatty $892,896/12 = $74,408

Ratio of spend rate to fundraising rate:

Ogonowski = 50.7% spend to raise ratio

Beatty = 91.5% spend to raise ratio

In summary yes Beatty’s total amount raised is impressive, but to say he’s outraised Jim 10-3 is while true, not the whole story.  Jim’s rate of fundraising is almost twice that of Jeff’s on a per month basis.
