About Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno

that Niki Tsongas is just another big government, special-interest-beholden, Democrat machine liberal.  The list is full of groups labelled “PAC” which of course means political action committee and is really special interest.

The list is also full of other people running for office.  Insiders supporting insiders.  Is anyone really expecting new fresh ideas from Niki Tsongas or just more of the same old bureaucratic mumbo jumbo.

Most obvious is that Niki Tsongas is relying so heavily on outside monies and support to try and win this election.  How does it make you feel that people from elsewhere in the country are going to decide who represents “YOU” in Congress?  Well, that’s what you get with Niki Tsongas….

    Nice piece of homework EaBo…

Perhaps Sioux Falls needs to be told that they are donating to a Sentaor’s widow over and ACTUAL FARMER?????

….would be the case, presenting one 48 hour report was skewed to say the least and of course, there was no point of comparison offered for Ogonwski.  So I took a look at the last 2 quarterly reports for both candidates and this is what I found.

    Ogonowski
56% of his donations come from out of district
24% of those out of disctrict donations come from out of state

    Tsongas
81% of her donations come from out of the district
24% of those out of district donations come from out of state

So, while it is true that Tsongas, on whole, has accepted 25% more donations from out of district (but from inside the Commonwealth), Ogonowski has gotten more than 50% of his donations from out of district and they have both taken the same percentage of money from out of state.

Any criticism that you lay at the feet of Tsongas regarding this issue should be issued against Ogonowski as well.

Congressional campaigns are costing $1-2 million, easy, now-a-days.  It would be ideal for only people who live in a district to contribute to these races.  But with about 650,000 people per Congressional District–that’s down right impossible to expect them to donate $2 to 4 million per contested election (for both sides)..

So we have 2 choices: 1) take cheap shots at the opponent for taking out of district contributions (with of course both parties do and you’re just being a hypocrite for making the charge) or 2) fix the damn system.

    Shulty says:

    The cheap shot… (0.00 / 0)
…is using a statistically insignificant sample and applying it to only one candidate and drawing a conclusion that is both not supported by all the available data and neglecting to report that the same criticism can be applied to the candidate the the maker of the claim is supporting.

Let’s examine. (First, the “sample” was 100% of the filing — but was the filing exemplary of the fundraising practices to date?)

    Here’s Niki’s 9/29 48 hr report. Out of $65,900 reported (47.5%!!), $31,500 was from PACs or other congressional committees,$5,300 was (non-PAC)out of state and $14,900 waS out-of-district. That leaves a grand total of $14,200 from in-district (21.5%)

    Here’s her 9/27 report. Out of $36,000, a whopping $3,300 (<10%) from in-district, and $22,500 (62.5%) from PACs and Dem committees.

    Here’s Niki’s 9/2 48 hr report. Out of $38,950, a whopping $13,200 (33%)was from in-district, the rest out-of-district.

I haven’t the time to continue with this at the moment, but I assure you, Shulty, that if you continue to examine these reports and compare them to Ogo’s, you will agree that the vast majority of Tsongas’money is coming from elsewhere, and even from those in-state, they are max contributions from Weston, Wellesley Hills, Boston, etc.

You’d think she was a Republican!

TSONGAS RAISES MORE MONEY THAN OGONOWSKI FROM IN-DISTRICT SUPPORTERS!

    This game is fun!
